Update: Haiti trips in April/May

Children of the Nations (COTN) is continuing to send teams of medical professionals to work in response to the Haiti earthquake.  Our teams are currently based in the Dominican Republic. serving the children and families we were able to transport from Haiti.  For a more detailed look at our plan, please visit http://www.cotni.org/pages/360-our-plan.

We are still in great need of the following professionals, as we compose Haiti Emergency Teams:

Medical Professionals
o   Doctors (Family Pract., Internal Med., ER, Pediatricians, PA or Nurse Practioners)

o   Team Leader with strong administrative skills

Post-College Leader Needed in Uganda!

We have a team of college students planning to intern in Uganda, Africa this summer. In order for the team to go we need at least 1 adult male and 1 adult female to lead this team. You would be ministering to orphans in northern Uganda through Children of the Nations, while shepherding these students through the internship experience. You would need to be available from mid-June to mid-August.

Purpose
: Lead our team of college interns to Uganda this summer. You will experience incredible ministry with Children of the Nations while shepherding a group of college students from Flood. You must be out of college to apply for this position.

Purpose: Serve the COTN national staff with any needs that they have; serve the local schools in Lira by encouraging and spending time with the students.

Raymond Offenheiser, president of Oxfam America, will address the 2009-2010 Distinguished Lecture Series theme of peace through development. Oxfam, which works on relief and development projects in countries like Haiti, El Salvador, and Indonesia to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger and injustice, also has advocacy campaigns on climate change, transparent natural resource extraction and aid reform. Offenheiser’s talk will focus on how to make U.S. foreign aid more efficient, effective and supportive of long-term sustainable development.
