We will continue on our journey of exploring the four tenets of the code of conduct found in the book, Season of Life. We will be discussing the second tenet, which is Lead Courageously. How do we lead with courage in our particular sphere of influence, and with our unique personality? Are we all called to be leaders? Is courage something we can learn, or something we are born with? We will be tackling all these questions as we look at different leadership styles, and how we can lead courageously within that. We will also be bringing in our manly team of chefs to grill us some more delicious carne asada, so make sure you mark your calendars!

In 2010 hundreds of churches in San Diego will partner together to impact the city of San Diego in an initiative called Season of Service. This is an opportunity for churches to come together and not only talk about what we stand for but also to live it out. During this season, churches all across the city will engage in intentional acts of service, targeting San Diego's greatest areas of need.
At Flood, the Season of Service will kick-off on April 10th with Shine Day, our annual 'spring clean,' and will culminate with San Diego CityFest, a city-wide celebration to be held by this partnership of churches on September 11th at Mission Bay. Tangibly expressing love through service is one of the richest ways we can experience joy. Come and experience that joy by giving your time, energy and money to provide much needed shelter for families in Tijuana. Flood partners with Amor to bring warmth and safety to those in need. No construction experience is necessary, just a willing and passionate heart. Sign up at the Welcome Tent on Sunday with a $20 deposit. Passport required.

NOTE: Worship Gatherings will occur at 9 & 11am only. For the evening, church is "being" the church through facilitating a carnival for the Linda Vista community.
As a follow up to our free Sports Camp offered in June of 2010, Flood church desires to provide a fun, family event for the Linda Vista community. The plan for this event is a free, carnival-type atmosphere with games, food, music, booths, and a ‘trunk-or-treat” for kids. All activities will be FREE with the exception of a nominal cost for concessions and a combo food plate ($2 for a hamburger or hot dog, chips, cookie, can of soda or water). We also hope to collect donations for two of our local ministries.
